Meet KiMesha Carson:
I am native to Alcoa, Tennessee and a single parent to four wonderful children. I have always been an artistic person, however, the balance of time usually played a huge interference. When my eldest began to show an interest in photography and found all of my old drawings, it was a perfect time to teach him everything I loved about art while strengthening our bond.
When COVID hit, I was forced with making a choice, which required me to take a leap of faith. I chose what I knew and that was art. The Black Lives Matter movement was in full force and I wanted to find a way to participate while helping my children understand the true meaning of the movement. I also needed them to grasp that what they put out into this world matters to everyone, not just themselves. More often than not the difficulty level to see the bigger picture is much greater when you can’t see past yourself.
